The most powerful and most efficient cosmetic lightening method against skin blemishes caused by melanin. Scientific and medical aspects of skin depigmentation.

Melanin pigmentation disorders: Melanogenesis is influenced by exogenous and endogenous factors which may lead to excessive localised melanin production.  Excess melanin appears in the form of ugly melanic blemishes, which in most cases no pathological importance.  They are acquired skin blemishes, unlike those of genetic origin.

Cosmelan reduces and eliminates acquired skin blemishes of melanic origin, increases skin luminosity and equalises skin tone. Cosmelan is a versatile professional topical lightening procedure adaptable to any skin phototype and easy execution.

We are a recognised as a specialised centre, pertaining to pigmentation. An exclusive group of advanced skincare clinics with cutting edge technology, knowledge and training.

Frequently asked questions

What is Cosmelan?
Cosmelan is a unique cream used for pigmentation, skin blemishes and rejuvenation. Cosmelan is very successful for Melasma, lentigo, post-inflammatory pigmentation and for prevention of pigmentation following peeling and acne. The product rejuvenates & lightens the skin and prevents photo aging and photo-damage. Cosmelan is suitable for any type of skin (even for dark skin). It is very safe and can be used throughout the year, but best during Autumn & Winter as we strongly recommend staying out of direct sunlight (sun baking).

What are the ingredients?
Koji Acid, Tyrosinol complex, Alpha-arbutine, Regaliza extract, Retinol palmitate, Nicotinamide, Phosphatidilcoline, Leaf extract, Vitamins C, A, E.

The ingredients can increase epidermal and dermal thickness of the skin and increase collagen and elastin fibres synthesis. At the same time, it blocks the production of pigmentation and blemishes.

How does Cosmelan work?
The process of pigmentation (melanogenesis) is blocked by Cosmelan because the cream obstructs the production of tyrozinase (the enzyme) and oxidation, responsible for pigmentation.

Tyrozinase is blocked by: Kojic acid, tyrosinol and leaf extract.

Oxidation is blocked by: Alpha-arbutine, Vitamins C, A, E

Nicotinamide blocks transfer of pigmented granules from melanocytes (cells producing pigment) to keratinocytes (cells of the skin). Cosmelan has antioxidants, which neutralisefree radicals.

Emollients in Cosmelan reduce irritation of the skin caused by the whitening agents. Other ingredients increase the collagen synthesis of the epidermal cells. The treated skin demonstrates significant signs of rejuvenation and beautification. Two solar filters are included for 20SPF protection and absorption of UVA radiation.

Tyronsinol is a new depigmentating agent, developed by MesoEstetic. It is derived from phenol, which acts by the inhibition of the tyrosinase (the enzyme), and therefore blocks melanin (pigment) synthesis. Tyrosinol potency in the inhibition of pigmentation is superior to hydroquinone.

Stimulation of Collagen

With age, the dermal fibroblasts (cells) lose their capacity of collagen synthesis. Vitamin C is a co-factor in the stability of collagen and stimulates the synthesis of collagen.
